Chicago: Day 1

It has been far too long since I have posted but I am making a commitment to myself to not have anymore long “vacations” from my blog. I come to you today from the windy city of Chicago. After speaking to my friend Natalie on the phone a few months ago I hastily booked a flight to Chicago to stage at restaurants Blackbird and Avec and of course to hang out with my friends and experience Chicago for all its worth.

First on the list? A true Chicago hot dog. To begin, Patrick takes me no more than five minuets from his house to a lovely place with a line out the door known as Gene's and Jude's. Known best for the classic Chicago style hotdog, this place offers tradition and quality.

After waiting in line for at least 15 minuets, (I mean the line was out the door!) we finally grabbed our two doubles and three singles and headed back to the car.

(Trying not to open the bag)

                                  SO CLOSE

And finally, the unwrapping of the hotdogs. I CANT WAIT

THE HOTDOG IN ALL ITS GLORY:)

Sweet Leaf Sweet Tea

I have finally found a bottled tea that is actually pretty good and great for when you're on the go! Sweet Leaf Tea isn't overly sweetened and only has the necessary ingredients to be a bottled tea.

Ingredients?
Filtered Water.
Organic Cane Sugar.
Organic Black Tea.
Citric Acid.

Not bad for something not home made. Plus every bottle contains a cap with its very own "grannyism."

So cute. So in the words the the sweet leaf granny, "Give it all you've got."
